Denny's Story
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, with Lake Erie as my backyard playground, I grew up fishing with my grandfather, father, and twin brother. Some of my best memories are perch fishing from rental boats with our 5.5 outboard motor and chasing white bass at the Eastlake Power Plant.
After high school, I went to Alaska and commercial fished for crab, halibut, salmon, and herring. When the king crab season was permanently closed because of overfishing, I returned home. I still needed to be on the water, so in 1985 I documented my sea time from Alaska and earned my captain’s license.
I bought the Linda Mae, a 30 passenger boat, and ran charters on Lake Erie from Ashtabula to Port Clinton. Watching my passengers fish, I noticed the tackle and methods they used. Some were good, and some were not so good. That is when I started making tackle that really worked and was easy to use. I believed that the more fish people caught, the more they would tell others and come back for more.
Now, over 40 years later, I have designed a full line of fishing tackle with replaceable weights, spinners, hooks, and body forms that can be used to make thousands of rigs for just about any type of fishing.
